"If SuperTiny SimCity Style has a big sister, it would be 1950s Hello Kitty Style. 1950s Hello Kitty design is a funky amalgam of cuddly Japanese comics, Swiss marionettes, animated woodmation characters from those bizarre TV Christmas specials (remember Burl Ives as a wooden snowman and the elf who became a dentist?), and 1950s chrome metal campers. The style seems to have sprung fully formed like Athena from the mind of San Francisco designer and artist Amy Franceschini in the early days of the web. She has been expanding its parameters online and off ever since."
